Rapper/DJ/Producer Sean Armstrong represents the DMV well in this E Major directed visual for the !llmind production "Took Control". This much needed ode to hip hop is from The Marble Cake Diaries, an upcoming mixtape set for release on November 19. "Took Control" has guest appearances from Tajai of Souls of Mischief and singer pHoenix Pagliacci. Visually, you gotta lift lids to another artist I love; the Baltimore Bruin himself, E Major. The video is very entertaining and just provides that raw hip hop vibe. From the opening skit in which Sean commentates, "Today's top story, wackness; the latest epidemic that is sweeping the streets" to the last bar, the song is equally entertaining; plus says some things that needed to be said. I love the vocals on here too. We got a healthy serving of hip hop soul from pHoenix! The Marble Cake Diaries, features Khrysis, J. Ivy, Da Beatminerz, Roddy Rod, Dischoe, Marc Nfinit(True School), and J Soul and The Mowery Boys. I am super looking forward to this!
